
Boston Neuropsychological Services is now offering
This summer Boston Neuropsychological Services, LLC is offering intensive remedial reading groups for children in grades 1 to 5 with different needs who are not reading and/or spelling at grade level. Services will be provided by a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with expertise in literacy, who has also been trained in methods of Orton-Gillingham, Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing Program® (LiPS)® for Reading, Spelling and Speech, Reading with TLC (Telian-Cas Learning Concepts, Inc.) and RAVE-O. Skills addressed will include phonological awareness, sound-letter correspondence (phonics), decoding, spelling, reading fluency, reading comprehension, and writing. Individual therapy is also available for older children as well, for both spoken and written language needs.
Each program will be especially designed to build on your child's strengths and to address any weaknesses utilizing research-based and multisensory methods. Groups will range in size from 3-6 students and will be arranged based on the child's incoming reading abilities, needs and personality.
Multisensory, systematic, and structured methods will be utilized to explicitly teach reading and writing skills. Sessions will refer back to previously taught concepts to reinforce newly learned information and will include:

We will set up an intake interview to review your child's records, including any previous speech-language and/or academic evaluations and current IEPs and goals. A screening of your child's abilities will be conducted for purposes of appropriate grouping and progress monitoring.
